A guide to your Spring mini photoshoot session.
Family photography isn’t just about photos.
It’s about capturing those fleeting moments, the ones that make you smile years from now. One day, your kids (and maybe even their kids!) will look at these images and see how life really was- full of love, laughter, and a bit of chaos, too.
Your session should feel like you. There’s no pressure for everyone to sit still and smile- this is about capturing real life. The messy, beautiful, totally unscripted moments that show off your family’s personality.
Honestly, some of the best shots happen when the kids are more interested in rolling down hills or playing in the mud than posing for the camera.
So forget about perfection and just enjoy the process. These photos will be your family’s story, told exactly as it is. Let’s make some memories you’ll treasure forever.

What to expect from your session.
Family sessions have a special place in my heart. You’ve chosen to capture this moment for no other reason than the love you hold for your favourite people (is there a better reason?)
My love of photography and family life have combined in the most beautiful way to be able to offer you gorgeous, child-led sessions where you can just be. There might be a couple of posed shots thrown in (for Grandma, right?) but the majority of the photoshoot is me capturing you loving each other, with gentle guidance, patience and understanding.
As a family photographer, my sessions have always been about having fun and letting the kids lead the way. We’re off on an adventure and I want you to leave any worries and skepticism at the door. This is a chance to step away from the world for a minute and really spend some quality time with the loves of your life. You may even forget the camera is there!
It’s all about the detail…
What you wear has the ability to take your photographs from good to amazing! Wearing complimentary colours, getting the family co-ordinated (but not matching!) and adding details and layers are the perfect ways to start.
The following palettes might help when looking through your wardrobe for outfit ideas. Feel free to choose one to tie your group’s outfits together. Solid colours and dainty prints work best on camera- and think about how to “future proof” your photographs by avoiding obvious brand logos or pictures.
Ultimately these photographs are yours, and they should feel like YOU! This advice is a guide rather than a command. I can’t wait to see how you express yourselves.
Checklist
Remove your smart watch- tech is the fastest way to age your images.
Take your phone out of your pocket.
Clean faces, and brush hair before the session.
Dress comfortably, and for you!
Bring drinks and snacks for littles, and spare clothes if it’s wet or muddy.
Wetwipes are also a good shout.
Relax. There is no pressure on anyone to ‘behave’ or present themselves a certain way during the session- we’re here to capture love and real life!
After the session.
Once our session has finished, I will take the images away to edit and then send you a personal gallery link to view and download your photographs.
You will then have the option of ordering prints and canvasses through the gallery, and I can also provide prints and framing on gorgeous luxe matte paper at an additional cost, because your photographs deserve pride of place on the wall!

The best outfit is something you feel amazing in! If you’re with a group, co-ordinating colours always looks beautiful (see the suggestions above!) The trick is to try to compliment without being too matching, if you can. And don’t forget accessories if you wear them- hats, scarves, jewellery, cool trainers… Whatever is YOU will be beautiful.

Sometimes these things don't go to plan. It might not be ideal, but believe me that with your help we can still get some beautiful images. Just remember the snacks, and we'll go with the flow!

Absolutely. They say never work with children or animals, I say let's enjoy the chaos! This is life we're documenting, of course you should include the rest of the family.
